Our story

History

Phil and Caroline Kingham trained with Ichthus Christian Fellowship in South London. They then belonged to The Stable – a church in High Barnet, and from this, they went to lead a church in Camden. Phil also led a youth ministry called The n:flame Trust, which served to enable young people to access the good news of Jesus.  This ministry has now merged with The Message Trust. 

In 2008, Phil and Caroline started a series of discussion evenings in Starbucks, Palmers Green. This led to running Alpha Courses and bible studies in another local café. Sunday morning meetings began as a small group in their home in February 2012. We then met at the Ruth Winston Centre until 2015.  Needing bigger premises and plenty of space for children’s groups, we then went into partnership with Palmers Green Baptist Church in 2015.  We began by having joint services with the Baptists every Sunday.  Then in 2018, Palmers Green Baptist Church was officially closed, and the 2 congregations joined to create one new entity, Newlife Church, Palmers Green.​
