Our Vision

The vision of Newlife church is Jesus.  We exist to love and serve him, through word, worship and lifestyle.  We are bound to love each other, as he first loved us.  Through the power of His Spirit, we work to share his salvation with all who will listen.  We are called to seek His Kingdom – the transforming power of His love poured out on our neighbours, our city and to the nations.

Our Values

Team leadership
We believe that leadership is stronger and safer when a team are involved in making decisions and deciding direction.  As God has poured out different gifts on different people, different people are needed in forming a healthy, balanced leadership team.

Growing people
We aim to equip people and set them on a path of continual transformation and growth as they pursue God’s calling on their lives.  We value character, encourage commitment, and recognise gifting, encouraging them to combine all for God’s glory.

Jesus-centred Bible teaching
We believe that all scripture reveals the nature, power and authority of Jesus. He alone transforms our brokenness and gives life that endures forever.  Both the Old and New Testaments reveal His centrality in God’s plan for humanity – we make this revelation the focus of our bible teaching.

Holy Spirit-led and prayer-driven
We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells in each believer and gently leads us as we seek Him.  Anything effective that we accomplish will come from a lifestyle of prayer, seeking his presence and direction in all things.

Everybody ministry
We believe that God has given everyone gifts to share with the body of Christ. We seek to release all those who choose to journey with us into the fulfilment of their gifting. 

Living for others
We believe the call of Christ is to lay down our lives for others as He laid down his life for us.  We believe that placing the needs and welfare of others before our own is at the core of God’s family.

Community transforming
We believe God calls his family to be both the salt and light of the world.  Both salt and light draw attention not to themselves, but bring out the flavour and beauty of what is around them.  As we have been transformed, so we seek the transformation of our local communities through the practical experience of God’s goodness.
